Questions

Getting Started

What is your specialty?
I specialize in helping individuals and couples heal from the devastating impact of Sex Addiction and betrayal trauma. This includes supporting the Betrayed Partner (trauma recovery) and the person struggling with Sex Addiction (addiction recovery and accountability). I also work with couples who are deciding whether to rebuild or separate.
Who do you work with?

I support:

  • Partners who have discovered their spouse's Sex Addiction or betrayal
  • Individuals struggling with Sex Addiction, porn addiction, or compulsive sexual behavior
  • Couples navigating the aftermath of betrayal who want to do the hard work of recovery together
How do I get started?
The easiest next step is to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. We'll talk about what you're experiencing and I'll answer any questions you have. Click here to book.
How do I know if I'm ready for therapy?
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in anxiety or shame, questioning your sanity, or unsure about the future of your relationship — you're ready. Many clients reach out when they feel they've "hit rock bottom" or realize they can't heal alone.
What can I expect in our first session?
In the initial 15-minute call or full first session, we'll gently explore what you're going through, what you need most right now, and whether we're a good fit. There's no pressure — just understanding and a safe space to share.

How I Work

What's the difference between working with the Betrayed Partner vs. the addict?
Betrayed partners need trauma-focused support to process shock, anxiety, grief, and shattered trust. Those struggling with addiction need compassionate but direct help breaking the cycle, understanding root causes, and rebuilding integrity. I tailor my approach to meet each person where they are.
Do you offer couples therapy?
Yes. I work with couples when both partners are committed to the recovery process. This usually happens after individual work has begun so each person has space to process their own pain and accountability.
What is the disclosure process, and do you facilitate it?

Yes, I guide clients through the disclosure process as part of recovery work. Disclosure is a structured, therapeutic process where the person who engaged in Sex Addiction shares a complete and honest account of their behaviors with their partner. This is done in a safe, carefully prepared way — never impulsively.

I help prepare both partners emotionally, set clear boundaries and guidelines, and facilitate the disclosure session(s) to support truth-telling, reduce further trauma, and lay the foundation for possible healing and trust rebuilding. This is a powerful but delicate step that I only recommend when both people are ready.

What is your approach to Sex Addiction?
I use a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach that combines addiction recovery work, shame resilience, and nervous system regulation. I believe in accountability without shame — real change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest.
How long does therapy typically take?
Healing timelines vary. Many clients see significant relief in 8–12 sessions, while deeper recovery and rebuilding trust often takes 6–18 months. We move at your pace with clear goals.

Practical Details

Do you accept insurance?
I am Out of Network and do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide detailed superbills after each session that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible Out of Network reimbursement. Depending on your specific plan, I may be able to leverage your Out of Network benefits to help lower your fee. I'm happy to discuss this further during your consultation.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. All sessions are completely confidential in accordance with professional ethics and California law. I only break confidentiality in rare cases where there is risk of harm, as legally required.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. I offer secure video sessions for clients throughout California. Many clients prefer the convenience and comfort of online therapy.
